Accessible web design

The State Training Services website strives to maintain conformance to W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and will continue to implement ways to improve user accessibility. Our aim is to ensure content is available to the widest possible audience, including readers using assistive technology.

This site has been designed to be viewed at a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

Access keys

Access keys function exactly like hot keys in any Microsoft application. They are intended as an accessibility aid for vision impaired users to skip directly to relevant content. To find out how access keys work in the major browsers view the Access in different browsers list here.

How to use accesskeys:

  • For Windows use the accesskey feature by holding down Alt + the assigned Accesskey number or letter together. Internet Explorer users need to hit the Enter key separately. Firefox users hold down Alt + Shift + accesskey (all keys must be held down together).
  • For Macintosh press Ctrl, then the assigned Accesskey number or letter (not COMMAND+Access key, which can produce undesirable effects).
