The right Registered Training Organisation for your apprentice/trainee

The choice of training organisation is yours.

User Choice

User Choice is a policy that allows you with your apprentice or trainee to select the Registered Training Provider (RTO) that will provide the quality accredited training that meets your specific needs.

Your Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) can provide you with assistance to find the right RTO.

Traineeships

In NSW User Choice applies to all traineeships.

Apprenticeships

User Choice operates for a limited number of apprenticeships in specific geographic regions.  TAFE is the major supplier of training for all other apprenticeships.   Check with your AAC to find an RTO.

Training costs

The funding of training delivered to your apprentice or new entrant trainee is covered by the NSW Apprenticeship and Traineeship Training Program.

However, your RTO will probably charge you an administration fee.  The fee is based on the current TAFE rate.  In 2011 this is $424.

Which RTO?

The Training Fact Finder provides information about RTOs that deliver NSW government funded apprenticeship and traineeship training.

This site lists

  • which RTOs are approved to deliver training for a particular vocation
  • what vocational training an RTO has been approved to deliver
  • delivery modes
  • enrolment numbers
  • completion rates
  • course or qualification
  • duration of the training

Changing your RTO

You can change your RTO if

  • you are dissatisfied with the delivery of training or assessment services
  • your RTO is deregistered
  • your RTO ceases trading.

Talk to your AAC.
