Productivity Places Program 2011-2012

Description

The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is a four year program developed by the Commonwealth Government in 2009 to reduce skill shortages in priority industries and increase the number of  workers with qualifications.  Funding is allocated to States and Territories to arrange accredited vocational training in targeted industries, occupations and competencies.

In 2011-2012 management of the PPP funds in NSW is incorporated into the Strategic Skills Program (SSP) guidelines and processes.   So, while PPP still targets and funds specific full qualifications, it is subject to the same administrative requirements as the SSP.

SSP offers an extended range of training options in part qualifications.  This can be for a competency  - how to run a particular machine, or skills sets - how to do accounts payable.

Together SSP and PPP provide employers with a broader base of training options.

Talk to your local State Training Services Centre about your businesses training requirements for part and full qualifications.
