The Continuing Apprentices Placement Services (CAPS) can help.
CAPS matches employers with apprentices and trainees who have been retrenched because of the economic down turn. You will need to register to be included in the job matching service.
Here are some tips and hints to guide you through the process.
Help for retrenched workers, apprentices and trainees
Retrenched Workers Training Assistance has been set up to provide more intensive information and assistance. It includes
- skills assessment
- referral to vocational training
- priority assistance
- help finding work
- liaison with other Commonwealth and State departments and community groups for other services as required
- some work related financial assistance.
