Professional Development for VET Practitioners in Energy Efficiency

High quality training resources to build the capacity of VET professionals to deliver energy efficiency training, have been funded for development in the areas listed below.

Current projects focus on:

All projects will result in a professional development workshop, which State Training Services (STS) will fund for delivery across NSW in 2011. Keep an eye on the STS training and development workshop timetable for details of where and when workshops will be taking place.

The training and assessment resources and, where relevant, project reports developed in each area will be able to be downloaded free from the State Training Services' SkillsOnline webpage as they become available.


Renewable Energy Technologies

Description

Creation of training resources for the professional development of RTO trainers and assessors to deliver training in six renewable energy subject areas.

Description

The resources developed through this project will assist VET practitioners to develop the expertise necessary to deliver competencies comprising the new energy efficiency skill sets.

Smart Grid Network Management

Description

This project will develop PD resources for competencies in smart grid and convergent technologies to build the teaching capabilities of VET teachers and assessors.

Thermal Efficiency in Construction

Description

This project will develop teaching and learning resources to support VET professionals in delivering training in sustainable building and design.

Unit of competency covered:
CPCCBC4020A Build thermally efficient and sustainable structures

 

Training Resources developed

After the evaluation of the existing resources in this area, the project will deliver a series of e-resources for the unit, including:

  • A Trainer's guide
  • Assessment documentation (guides and tasks)
  • A Learner's guide

The resources will also provide knowledge and skills that will build the capacity of trainers and assessors in the delivery of CPCCCM1002A: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry, a core competency within the construction qualifications.

The Crossover Between 'Green' and 'Lean' in Manufacturing

Description

The materials developed under this project cover energy efficiency and green lean principles, for trainers to effectively deliver sustainability skills to learners.

Description
