Networks

Why Network?
Networks provide opportunity for people with similar interests to share information, improve standards, guide partners and influence authorities and other organisations.
Vocational Education and Training networks can be effective by:
- sharing training information
- sharing and developing resources
- promoting best practice
- encouraging and supporting the professional development of trainers and assessors
- participating in wider networks.
Vocational education and training (VET) Networking
A well composed VET network
- should include representatives from training organisations, business, industry and other interested parties.
- provides a collaborative approach to problem solving and development of initiatives in response to local or industry needs
- ensures a credible validation of practices and solutions.
Support for VET Networks
State Training Services (STS) provides support for VET networks by providing
- access to up date information and resources
- consultative services
- assistance with projects or initiatives
- a platform for gathering comment, suggestions and new ideas
- professional development activities
- customisation of services to fit local needs
- facilitation to the broader range of STS programs and services.
In return, STS listens, gathers and assesses information from you. It uses this for
- forward planning of its professional support services, workshops or other initiatives, and
- policy development.
