NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training
Between 2004 and 2013 the NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training (BVET) provided the NSW State Government and the Minister for Education with strategic advice about the vocational education and training system.
In November 2013 the Board of Vocational Education and Training was replaced by the NSW Skills Board. Information on the NSW Skills Board can be found at here.
The Board of Vocational Education and Training oversaw policy and planning initiatives and fostered partnerships in the NSW training system. The Board was a key source of advice to the Minister on state and national vocational education and training priorities, skills and tertiary planning. The Board's work included the implementation of a range of projects related to vocational education and training in NSW.
During its operation the Board demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that skills development through vocational education and training and tertiary education met the needs of all individuals and industry, and that the benefits of high-quality training were shared throughout communities.
