Tech Savvy Seniors Program 2017
The Tech Savvy Seniors Program is continuing into 2017 by community colleges and libraries throughout various locations in NSW.
Tech Savvy Seniors delivers low cost digital literacy training to seniors so they can develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online. The program provides training in computers, tablets and smart phones to help seniors to stay connected with their families, friends and communities.
This successful program is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.
The training is scheduled to commence from early 2017.

Auslan resources are available to support The Tech Savvy Seniors Program.
The NSW Department of Family and Community Services through the NSW Department of Industry has provided The Deaf Society of New South Wales with funding to develop Auslan resources about tablets, the internet, and how to use them. The videos cover three important topics which are based on the resources developed by Telstra:
- Introduction to the Internet
- Introduction to Social Media
- Introduction to Tablets

Good news story - Still learning at 97
ACE Community College which provides training and education services in Northern NSW and Southeast QLD have been successfully running the Tech Savvy for Seniors course at Bupa Pottsville. Most of the 23 residents who participated in the course had never used a computer before. Read the full article from the Tweed Daily News, December edition.
