Jobs and Skills boost for Bourke

13 July 2017

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW, Skills and Small Business, John Barilaro, has announced $320,000 in government support to train and upskill local workers in the NSW north-west and promote employment opportunities at the new Bourke small livestock abattoir, which will open in 2018. Training Services NSW will coordinate pre-employment training and placement of workers at the abattoir, working with the preferred training provider and the Aboriginal community.

New campus for Nambucca Vocational College

7 July 2017

Deputy Premier and Minister for Skills, John Barilaro, and Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey, opened a new campus for the Nambucca Vocational College, which is welcome news for people in the region who want to upskill to work in the growing aged care sector. The NSW Government, through Smart and Skilled, is funding the College to deliver pre-traineeship training in aged care.
