Medium Employer of the Year eligibility and selection criteria
The Medium Employer of the Year Award recognises a medium enterprise which has achieved excellence in the provision of ‘nationally recognised training’ to its employees.
Please note that ‘nationally recognised training’ refers to training that is based on a national training package or accredited course which results in a person receiving a formal qualification or Statement of Attainment issued by a Registered Training Organisation. This includes Australian Apprenticeships.
To be considered a medium employer:
- your organisation must employ 20 or more, but less than 200 employees in NSW (including full-time, part-time and casual equivalents)
An organisation with more than 200 employees in NSW (including full-time, part-time and casual equivalents) will be considered a large employer. An organisation with less than 20 employees in NSW (including full-time, part-time and casual equivalents) can apply for the direct entry award category for Small Employer of the Year. Applications will not be accepted from:
- from organisations that provide vocational education and training as their core business; however, these organisations may consider nominating for either the Large or Small Training Provider of the Year Award.
NSW Training Awards will accept joint applications from:
- a Group Training Organization who partners with a Host Employer
- a Host Employer who partners with a Group Training Organisation
Nominations will not be accepted from organisations whose core business is the delivery of vocational education and training (these organisations may consider nominating for either the Large or Small Training Provider of the Year Award).
